Alan Manín

Pastry chef at Pastelería Manín (Cangas del Narcea, Asturias, Spain)

Third generation of a family of bakers, Alan García has revolutionized the business in Cangas del Narcea with gourmet pastries.

Carla Ordás (1996) and Alan García (1991) share a bakery in Manín, defending the pastry line of this company owned by Alan's family. Both are natives of Cangas del Narcea, where after their training they returned to energize Asturian pastry making together with Iván Vázquez and Pelayo Muñiz with Le Llamber - Manín Sucre.

Pastelería Manín was born in Cangas del Narcea 40 years ago. In its beginnings it exclusively produced bread, which was distributed throughout the villages in the area. It was the second generation of this family who, keeping the recipe of bread baked in a wood-fired oven, bet on this product and this family tradition, taking it throughout Asturias. Currently, the third generation has turned the business into a bakery. It is made up of a team of 40 people and has stores in Cangas del Narcea, Gijón, Oviedo and Tineo.

In spite of all the expansion project, Pastelería Manín has always felt attached to the rural environment and it is there where it opened the doors of its latest project last July: Le Llamber - Manín Sucre.
