After working in an office for eleven years, Tatiana Álvarez and her husband decided to go into livestock farming.
Ca Mamina is the name of a family project based on the breeding of native Asturian breeds, mainly Gochu Asturcelta and Oveya Xalda, whose products go directly to restaurants and private customers.
They firmly believe in the quality of their indigenous breeds and all that they offer in addition, in a regime of extensive breeding, as they do, caring for and improving the environment that surrounds them, thus contributing to the conservation of the environment and the preservation of the Asturian rural traditions inherited from their ancestors, which are part of their identity and cultural heritage.
Their maxim is quality. To this end, they take care of their animals, giving them space and peace, respecting their rearing periods and taking great care of their diet, which is based on cereals and natural seasonal products.
