Teresa makes a stand for the rights of rural women, to have their work and contributions to rural development acknowledged and brought to the fore.
Born in Cabanas (A Coruña), she is an agricultural engineer specialising in Agrofood Industries. She was unanimously elected President of the Federation of Associations of Rural Women - FADEMUR-, and has held the post since it was created in 2004.
In Spain, Teresa López represents rural women in the State Women's Participation Council, and on the international stage she represents FADEMUR on the EU's COPA (Committee of Professional Agricultural Organisations), and she was vice-president of its Female Commission from 2011 to 2015.
She is also vice-president of the ACODEA Foundation, the first Spanish-speaking agricultural development cooperation agriagency, set up by UPA and FADEMUR.
